Bleaching

Bleaching is a service that your endodontist can perform to help restore the tooth's natural color from the inside.  The process unusually performed on a anterior, or front tooth, after a root canal has been performed.  Typically this is done when the tooth will be restored with a composite, or plastic tooth colored filling.  It may also be done when a all porcelain crown is to be placed.

Bleaching is not an exact science.  It will not result in a perfect match of tooth shades.  In most case it will yield a aesthetically pleasing result.  In many cases, after the initial staining is bleached out, your general dentist can further achieve color matching through external bleaching as well.
